Making it easy for anybody to go hunting

We’re building the easiest way for anyone from beginners to seasoned hunters to get out there. Right now we’ve hand-picked hunts in Texas, but you can sign up to get a notification as soon as we get to your area.

For beginners, Outrider makes learning to hunt easy. For experienced hunters, it makes finding the best hunts incredibly simple. You can learn more on our Help page, or instantly book a hunt right now.

We’re elevating a new breed of hunter. Which is just another way of saying we’re elevating the timeless breed. For lots of reasons, the way folks think about hunting (even within the hunting community itself at times) took a slide in the 20th century. We’re getting back to what true hunters have always known themselves to be: responsible, ethical, food-oriented, and above all focused on reminding ourselves that we’re always part of nature.

Why we started Outrider

We began with a simple, hand-written list that outlined our core goals for the company:

  • Make hunting more affordable
  • Make booking a hunt easier
  • Create more access and opportunity for hunters
  • Create a platform for landowners, allowing them to monetize their land
  • Advocate sustainable hunting practices and values
  • Introduce a new generation to hunting

Everything we do, say, and make has to fulfill at least one of these goals. This list has helped us maintain our course and provides us with a clear road map for the future. We’re committed to creating a world-class product that empowers landowners and creates affordable access for hunters.

We understand that the model of “landsharing” comes with some reservations: “Why would I let strangers on my land?!” While we have several reasons why you should, let’s put the discussion into in a broader perspective. For one, landowners leasing their land to hunters is a tradition that goes back hundreds of years. We’re modernizing that process. As far as the sharing economy goes, if you told us 10 years ago that homeowners would rent out their houses to strangers, that you could make extra money by picking up strangers in my car, we’d have told you that you were crazy. What the sharing economy has proven is the existence of the social trust and the true value in human relationships. It has also proven that the sharing economy makes life a heck of a lot easier, and fuller.

We understand that sharing your car or home isn’t the same as sharing your land with hunters. We are dedicated to the details and nuances that make hunting unique. We created Outrider to alleviate some of the pain points that prevent hunters from hunting more. If hunters and landowners work together, both sides win.

We ask that you join us on our journey. We can’t do it without you.
